Superchargers run off of the engine's crank (belt-driven), while turbochargers run off of the engine's exhaust gases (flow-driven).
edit: I didn't phrase things right about the turbo, but I do know how it works. And it might be a regional thing, but I've never heard of a turbo being called a "blower". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blower
