You are brave indeed! and you prep your work properly. As for the steering wheel, I highly recommend refinishing it with black vinyl/fabric dye paint. A few companies make it, rustoleum, dupli-color etc. I've done it on many black steering wheels and it makes it feel new, by hiding scratches and discoloration. Also it won't flake because the leather doesn't flex on the wheel. Great post!
