Did this a while ago. Initially it was wow like what OP felt, after a few months, it just feels right and normal. I did adjust the magnet to a higher point since after a few runs, car won't start. It took 5 mins to do.
CDV removal made the clutch engagement much better.
ZHP knob. shift nice and feels really great in hand.
Other mod that I've done to enhance the shifter feeling is trans mount. I did the black one from RE and it felt like click-click when shifting. That wore off, too..
After a transmission flush, I installed AS SSK. Best mod for shifting feel and also installed an eBay weighted shifter since the ZHP is now too short after the SSK.
Now it's a shifting heaven in the Zed.
