By removing the spacer I was able to put a 94R / H7 AGM battery in my 3.0si. The size 48 (H6) would have been an exact replacement for the stock battery with the spacer remaining in place.
Very happy with the battery and hopefully the extra oomph will help on some very cold days.
The only bad news is that I waited too long and let my car get into transit mode before/during the install process. Required a $135 donation to the local dealer to get resolved :-(
