The old 240Z was, however, built like a cheap POS and mine eventually rotted from the frame rails up. For the last couple of years I kept my driver's seat from falling through the rotting floor by securing it to an aftermarket rollbar - ah, grad school.

Reliability in the Z4 has been almost embarrassingly good so far. I've done regular oil changes every 7500 miles, replaced the shocks at 70K and the brake pads at 80K miles. Nothing else and it runs great.
Interesting. I still have my 70',73' and a 74' Z and none of them rusted out at all....even being in the salt spreading winter midwest. back then they didn't have much in the way of rustproofing or zinc coatings so we did it ourselves.

I bought my Z4C due to the 240-Z similarities. My green 73' is turbocharged w/coil-overs and leather comforts etc. They are a good match of old vs. new.
