No, I did not touch the driveshaft.

I did not want to remove the Guibo since that will introduce some reassembly alignment issues to be addressed and I did not what to get into that, but you can unbolt the driveshaft from the Guibo which then you would not have the Guibo to transmission alignment sleeve issues, but you still have to do the same thing at the differential.
Why make work for yourself unless you really need it?

There is plenty of room to work.

Yes, you have to remove the exhaust from the mufflers all the way to the header.
