It's expensive but completely worth it!) and also at the Tillamook Air Museum not too far away. I stumbled upon the latter while out wine and cheese tasting last summer. They have a nice collection, which I was surprised to learn included the last remaining Boeing 377 Stratocruiser or Mini Guppy, which you can tour if you get there before an hour before closing time (oops!). Probably the coolest thing about this museum is that it's housed in one of the few remaining WWII blimp hangers. It's made almost entirely out of wood and is 1,072' long, 296' wide, and 192' high! There's a basketball hoop hanging at one end near the top. I would imagine it's seen very little use!
itdnwiwbp,

It's been quite a while since I was in Oregon, so I'm overdue for some sightseeing there. I'm glad that the blimp hanger builders had a sense of humor!

I remember the first time I drove by the blimp hangers for the Goodyear Blimp(s) in Akron, Ohio. At first I had no idea what they were. Later on, I figured or out (or, more likely, someone told me), and then it all made sense.

Thanks for the OR touring tips!

Rick
