EDIT - Simple Green has responded by creating aircraft grade Extreme Simple Green, reformulated to avoid corrosion.

I guess it works as designed then; to remove grease and grime.
I've used a light spray of Simple Green Automotive formula on a pre dampened engine bay for years. Followed by a good light mist rinse on the motor and pressure washer elsewhere. Never used a dressing afterward but it does look nice
