No this is an in tank pump vs the Walbro in line you mentioned. It also can flow much better at the high psi our fuel system runs at. Walbro makes very good pumps this one is just better, and perfect for an in tank replacement for the Z4M. The install itself took around 4 hours , bc we had to drop the rear diffuser take down the exhaust etc. ,before dropping the tank. It hooks up electrically very easily , but you do have to mod it to sit in the stock basket. The oem pump has a bit of a neck on it while the stealth does not . So we used a clamp and screw setup to secure it in the stock position in the basket. Not a bad install. People do make sleeve kits for the stealth that work for the E46 M3 fuel basket which i believe is very similar to ours if you want a plug and play solution. I included a flier from a company that sells a kit.
