Sorry for confusing you - the two in the picture are the: the top one is supplied by ESS as part of the kit and it has 3 pieces of pipe fitted together to accomplish the same thing the bottom one ( BMW Part for E46) does it with one!
They both work I suppose but I never use 3 pieces of hose carrying anything when 1 will do. It is actually the same length or a bit longer and fits fine. 2 clamps and you're set.
