Couldn't you use the child seat airbag defeat switch (activated with key inside the passenger door jamb) to avoid this problem? Seems like that overrides airbag deployment with an occupied seat, which is what we'd want when driving solo. Would need to be diligent and remember to enable it, however, when you do have a passenger...

Now, while DSC_OFF has verified that this gizmo does solve the airbag light issue, the other (important) question is do the airbags indeed deploy when they should? Would someone please install the simulator and then run their car into something so we know for sure?
