It does bring up an interesting consideration though...Most have been focusing on the issue being mechanical in nature and caused by the transmission. Could it, instead, be an issue with the clutch or clutch-linkage? It's already been proven on other forums that an aftermarket clutch stop in one car will exacerbate the problem, but if moved to another, "identical" car, there will be no problem at all.
So could it be more of a problem of clutch engagement adjustment such that a decent percentage of the clutches aren't adjusted properly and, instead, have their full-engagement position at or possibly beyond the point of full-pedal travel, whereas it should be a bit before?
Seems logical, but I'm not an automotive engineer (I did, however stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...)
