This is my first "upscale" car, my '07 MR. I've been told Mercedes has a reputation for lasting for 200k-300k miles and beyond...and that BMW's reputation is really more of a performance car. Solid mechanically, but doesn't really have a reputation for being that super high mileage vehicle relative to Mercedes. Is that close to accurate? I realize ALL cars these days can probably last till at least 150k if not 200k miles...heck my mother-in-law is still driving my old 2000 Ford Taurus and now has 175k miles on it. I also realize that if you spend enough money fixing things that any vehicle can "last" a long time. But you get what I mean...with standard maintenance, is there a difference?
