Those were just sudden stalls like many others have reported. Only happened 3-4 times in as many years.
Always hot weather, always on < 1/4 tank, always after getting off the freeway and stopping at a light.
My more recent problem was much more often, and independent of weather or gas level, but was worse after a long run on the freeway.
And it wasn't just an out-of-the-blue stall. It would bob around, miss a cylinder or two, grumble and hunt ...

Duh.
Yep. That's it.
The actuator's in the middle. I was looking for it on the back end of the rail like a mirror image of the front.
