when i drove my friend's ess blow e92 m3, it didn't have a whine to it, and just sounded like a whistle or something. a bit disappointing in that sense
-Yes, it is the ESS VT-1 445 kit.
-I am running 245/35/19 front and 285/30/19 rear Hankook evo v12's
-Yes, very good traction for a street tire.
-Yes, I am running RPI GT exhaust.
-The "blower sound" is just a faint whistle. The intake growl is nice though.

I was going to do the install myself. ESS provided great instructions with clear color photos. The install is very straight forward with only one kink. to mount the bracket for the blower you have to lift the engine a bit because there is not enough clearance for the bolts. Because of my work schedule I would have had to wait another two weeks to install the kit.

I do not like to have anyone but myself work on the M, but I really did not want to wait two weeks. After talking to our local ESS Authorized intallation shop I was excited. It turns out that the they could do the intall the same week I got the kit, and the guy who would be doing the installation helped develop the intake for the kit. He did the installation on the red roadster. Their install was very clean and It was done earlier than quoted.
