Seems that's not uncommon with the PS. Mine had the same issue (fixed under warranty when with the prior owner). Someone on our board (can't recall who) lost a day at the track fairly recently due to this as well.

My indie shop recommends a change of fluid to help prolong the life of the pump and hoses (hoses in particular). I don't recall the details, but something about the older fluid tends to be unkind to the hoses. There's a DIY on this somewhere around here I think. Seems like a procedure that's probably a good idea to do every couple of years, don't think it's that pricey. At the very least something to check on as part of the overall health and safety check of the vehicle along with other checks (like oil).

So, I have to ask, did you give them the valve inspection worksheet and ask to see what the clearances were and what shims were used? No need to answer now--you can roll that up in the detailed report to follow post.
