IIRC UUC has had 2 kinds of mounts, older bolt through style and newer isolated style. If you have the older style, it could explain the dramatic increase in vibration, since the trans is literally bolted to the car and just surrounded by rubber, the vibration is being transmitted through the bolt and not dispersed into the rubber as with an isolated design.
