My 2005 Z4 38000 miles steering failed May 2011, Call BMW customer assistance and they told me to take it back to the dealer. Got the run around for days from BMW customer assistance and finally convinced the senior service writer that he should ask for policy adjustment. He sent email to his area manger and the next day it was approved under warranty policy. I had to pay the labor. Cost me $500. I thought it was decent deal, can't wait until I get my new BMW X5.
