This part of the country is really packed with history--it's everywhere, some of it very well known (e.g., Gettysburg) and other parts almost entirely forgotten (e.g., the Civil War Battle of South Mountain). It's a lot of fun to "discover" something interesting that's in the latter category.

Thankfully, as you point out, the entire country has outstanding scenery!
