My "butt-o-meter" feels like just after 3000 RPM, the car is no longer pulling as hard. So it's the opposite effect really. It's not a huge drop off or anything, but something very mild and feels odd to me. I'm pretty picky with these things.

I had my buddy, who is a mechanic, look at the Besian procedure and he said he doesn't want to touch it because of the timing. He's very conservative with regards to messing with other people's car as well and he's never done this work on a BMW S54 either. I was more hoping for him to just watch over my shoulder and let me do the work but he's not comfortable with that arrangement as he said he'd feel responsible if something went wrong.

I haven't checked for codes as the car seems to run fine otherwise.
