My personal experience on a track with the local P-Car club is that, with sticky tires, an aggressive alignment, and better brake pads and fluid, the only Porsches that could sufficiently handle me were the Turbos, GT2s, and GT3s.
My girlfriend's 997-1 C4S is, unfortunately, an automatic, and the only way to get it to approach "feeling" like my M Coupe is to put the 997s sport on and set the shocks to full stiff. Otherwise the throttle is lame and rides like a buick...
