FWIW, I talked to my mechanic and he said that the stock BMW transmission fluid is actually really good, the only downside being that it's expensive. He told me that he'll change out the stock fluid on cars with 100K+ miles and it'll come out cleaner than aftermarket fluids after much shorter intervals. I sent the RP back.
