Kinked tubing issue
My root cause after taking almost the whole system apart ... was that the tubing running from the pump reservoir to the nozzles had slowly, over the years, gotten kinked, preventing only very limited flow. The kink was under wrapping in the area where the tubing flexes when the hood is opened/closed, so it was hidden from view.
