One thing that no one has mentioned yet is trunk space. When I traded my 00 Z3 for my 03 Z4, I got a trunk that let me easily carry two carry-on type suitcases and two backpacks or briefcases in the trunk. So if two of us are flying somewhere, we're covered or we've got plenty of room for a road trip.
The new Z4 has a similarly sized trunk as long as the top is up. But with the top down, you've got room for one carry-on bag and it better not be too thick.
