Not even for driving on mostly cleaned up streets? I don't expect to be driving in more than an inch max.
The main issue with winters is storage. I live in a studio so besides stacking them up next to my desk, there is no storage option. NYC living is as much of a compromise as all-seasons, if not bigger.
