I did not know that Schrick currently offered a 296/288. I thought the next step up from the 288/280 was the 304/296. You should flip through the BMW Motorsports catalogs and get the Evo cams

It really does add up very quickly. The amount I spent on the Evolve CF Airbox, Evolve AlphaN, and Schrick 288/280 cams is right around the price of a brand new VT1-445. That not even including labor and dyno time.

Many years ago, I almost got the VT1-445. After driving one on the street, I realized that I am just a Naturally Aspirated nut. I personally didn't want to deal with extra mechanical parts and with my NA setup, I actually lost front end weight.

My good friend just installed a CSL Airbox, SS V1 Stepped Headers, Schrick 280/272, and has a slight revision of his tune from Evolve Automotive. He put down ~15whp more than what my stock E90 M3 did on the same dyno on the same day. It's not even the peak power, but the overall area under the curve that impresses me the most compared to my stock E90 M3. We had limited time with Sal and the dyno, so we're hoping he can pull out a few more ponies next time around. At any rate, his E46 M3 is the most ballistic and responsive I have ever ridden in. Mid-range is out of this world...
