Reason I'm asking is that my car did not have extended leather, or so I was told. (I bought the car off the dealer's lot.) However your interior is identical to mine (carbon leather trim and black leather upholstery.) So now I'm naturally suspecious whether my car did actually have EL?

so sorry to hear about your accident. Glad you are okay.
To answer your question - take a look at my pics in the first page of this post....one area you will see is that the entire door panel is upholstered in leather, that includes the areas near the top and bottom of the door (i found that having leather at top of door instead of the scratchy plastic BMW used on all Z4's to be a big upgrade (i owned a Z4 vert before)).
Also - the center console area is all upholstered in leather as well. I think that is about it.
