Had imola-red seats on my '06 Z4MR and the side bolster was prematurely worn. The upholstery guy that the dealer hired tried 3 times to color-match (by using some fancy device hooked up to a laptop to determine the exact shade) but could not match the imola-red dye. The dealer ended up replacing the seat cover altogether. I don't know - maybe a better upholstery shop would have been able to match the dye.
Now I just drive around with the BMW OEM Z4M seat covers; it looks ugly but as least they protect the seats.
