Here's how I've found works best. Grab a slat on either side (1 in from the edges, etc.) then push upwards and pull the bottom out at the same time. As if the grill was hinged to the top of the bumper, the bottom should swing out first then the top will just fall out once you get the bottom un latched. To reinstall put the top in first all the way then swing the bottom in, press and click.
